Producer/Editor – Amanda has a degree in Communications and a Bachelor of Fine Arts. She has over a decade of television production experience with Shaw TV and Craig Broadcasting. When she isn’t knitting while watching sci-fi/anime or Daily Planet, she’s trying to convince her cat that he would look awesome in a bow-tie.
Co-President – Bob left a successful legal career to return to the motion picture industry with the launch of film and TV production house, Angel Entertainment, followed by the acquisition of Bamboo Shoots. Equally at home on a film set or in a banker’s boardroom, he contributes creative vision and financial acumen to our success. An avid horseman and an enthusiastic (if limited) musician, Bob has spent much of the last 20 years raising two kids who are cooler than him.
Senior Producer – Bobby brings multiple years of knowledge to Bamboo Shoots in the area of video production and the art of producing video projects. In 2005, Bobby completed his post-graduate in the Sport Business Management program at Algonquin College in Ottawa. In 2010, Bobby packed up his life and headed out west from Ottawa and has been enjoying every moment since. Bobby has many years of client relationships that ensure the client is happy and satisfied with the outcome of the project. Bobby is also a musician and DJ.
DOP/Cinematographer – Brandon brings over 20 years of shooting experience in both the broadcast and video industry. He is heavily involved in all of our corporate visual messaging work as well as lending his expertise on many SaskTelMax and mobile productions. Some of Brandon’s other duties are the care and feeding of the camera equipment as well as mentoring other videographers at Bamboo Shoots.
Account Executive – Cameron is still a little baffled as to how he managed to find a job that combines both of his degrees (Marketing – U of S, Film and Video Production – U of R), but he is pretty happy to have done so! In recent past lives, he has been a Senior Research Associate at a market research company, and an Account Executive at an advertising agency. Cameron has three wonderful children and looks back fondly on the days when he had spare time. Sometimes, if the planets align just right, he has a few moments to spend watching nerdy movies about spaceships or superheroes, or to pretend he is still young and cool and ‘rock out’ on his guitar.
Administrative Support – Charis is the first lovely face you’ll see when you arrive at Bamboo Shoots. When she’s not busy organizing the Bamboo universe, she DJs at a local martini lounge and otherwise indulges her obsession with music.
Motion Graphics/Visual Effects – Chris is our wizard in After Effects, 3D motion graphics and Photoshop. He studied multimedia production at Lethbridge College and taught multimedia effects and production in Southeast Asia for five years. When not creating stunning graphics, his attention is turned toward his two fantastic children.
CFO – Ell is a CFA charter holder and oversees Finance and Accounting for Bamboo. She started in the industry working in departments from continuity to chyron but quickly learned that she could never white balance a camera like she can balance the books. Ell’s expertise is in raising project and corporate financing, cost accounting and control, and business affairs. She spends her off time dreaming up DIY projects to put her power tool collection to work.
Marketing Coordinator – Evilyn has a degree in Finance from East China University of Politics and Law, and MBA from the University of Saskatchewan. She worked in the international conference industry for a year, but discovered her real passion was film and television productions. Upon joining Bamboo Shoots, she quickly immersed herself in the marketing process and oversees Bamboo’s social media. In her off time, Evilyn loves to indulge herself in Hong Kong action movies and crime-solving TV shows.
Senior Broadcast Engineer – Born and raised in Saskatoon, Garry went to SIAST Moose Jaw and earned his Electronics Technician certificate. Before joining Bamboo, Garry has worked for Prairie Mobile (radio/telecommunications), and Global TV Saskatoon as Senior Broadcast Technician for five years. Garry spends a lot of time playing with radio controls outside of work, and has become an expert in drones technology .
Accounting | Human Resources – Gordon loves to play with numbers, big or small. He’s lived everywhere from Tanzania to Nunavut, and has lots of stories to tell of his travels. When he’s not buried deep in the books for Bamboo and Angel Entertainment, his time is devoted to his family and his favorite charities.
Cinematographer/Colorist – A man of many hats James has both a technical background in electronics as well as creative background in photography, art, and music. When not working hard at Bamboo shoots James always has some type project on the go or is learning about something new.
Director/Writer – Lisa has a Journalism degree and an English degree, which make her extra qualified to use big words. She has worked for CBC and Shaw TV as a videographer and producer, as well as field producing for the Weather Network and CPAC.
Producer/Editor – Matt is new to the company but not new to the world of video production. With a Diploma from SIAST in Media Arts Production and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film and Video Production from the University of Regina, Matt brings a variety of experience in shooting, editing, and lighting. He has worked on feature films, short films, commercials, live events and everything else thrown at him. Before joining Bamboo Matt worked in the Broadcasting sector for CTV Regina. In his spare time he directs and produces his own films, obsessively shoots time-lapse photography, and collaborates with other visual artists on a multitude of motion picture endeavors.
Broadcast Engineer – Randy studied electronics at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. He joined Bamboo Shoots in 2003, after working in the electronics industry for 13 years. It falls to Randy to make everything work, whether it’s a car, a barbecue or a transmitter. He handles this all with aplomb, and hunts wild boar to mitigate the stress.
Sales and Marketing Manager – Russ has been a VTR technician, an editor, a computer graphic artist and a university level hockey coach, which makes him highly effective motivational speaker. He is responsible for all logistics involved with Bamboo Shoot’s mobile production, crew scheduling, and production decisions. His mobile teams have covered musical and sporting events, major corporate presentations and webcasting in a wide variety of locations.
Senior Mobile Producer – Rusty has over 27 years of Broadcasting experience. Before joining Bamboo in 2008, Rusty spent 18 years at Global TV in Saskatoon. Rusty directs most of Bamboo Shoots’ live events, including a Saskatchewan Roughrider pre-season game in 2010, Tankard curling broadcasts and the many webcasts Bamboo is involved with. Rusty travels the province working on the MaxTV events including Roller Derby and Racing in the summer, Midget AAA Hockey and cheer leading in the winter. From Estevan to Nipawin and points in between, Rusty enjoys spending time at the lake with his wife and 2 daughters. He enjoys golf and watching the girls play soccer.
Account Executive – Ryan was born and raised in Regina and is now raising three kids in the Queen City with his lovely wife. He has a Bachelor of Administration from the University of Regina and while new to Bamboo Shoots he brings over 15 years of account management experience to the team. In his free time Ryan loves to play hockey (as a below average athlete), going to concerts (as a wannabe rock star) and travel. His bucket list includes seeing every NHL/NFL team in their home stadium and somehow getting on stage with Jay-Z or the Headstones.
Senior Creative Director – When Saxon isn’t busy referring to himself in the third person, he spends his time searching the world over for exotic taxidermy and WWI era hats. Saxon is the senior creative director with the Bamboo Shoots team and has directed commercials for Ens Toyota, Synergy Credit Union, SaskEnergy, Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Saskatchewan and Ontario to name a few. Saxon has also directed videos for such clients as SaskEnergy, Acura/Funn Group, The Children’s wish Foundation and many more.
Director/Editor – Scott has quickly moved up to become a success in his field of photography but, through experimenting and reflection, feels that video is a better way to tell an immersive story. As someone who loves to constantly learn new things, the Bamboo Shoots production team is a perfect position for Scott to jump into. With his background in electronics and commercial photography, Scott can technically and visually produce the stories anyone is looking to tell. Scott is fortunate to be able to travel, collaborate with others and emerge himself into personal projects so that he can continue to grow and become more diverse in the commercial and corporate media production world.
Mobile Producer – Simon has worked in television for 20 years. In addition to his skills on location and in the edit suite, Simon is a long time rock and roll guitarist and veritable treasure trove of musical trivia. Seamlessly combining type A and type B characteristics, Simon keeps a tidy performance area onstage and is known to his bandmates as The Anal-Retentive Guitar Player.
Senior Producer – Relocated from our Regina office, Todd is the go-to person for SaskTel maxTV production services. He has worked in the broadcasting industry for almost two decades, gaining experience in capacities such as camera person, videotape operator, switcher, director and promotions producer. Todd has worked on various projects including Rider Maxtron team and the Craven Country Jamboree. After work, Todd is a loving father who also enjoys watching football games, live game is even better.
Senior Producer – Tracy has worked in the commercial film industry for over 8 years as Producer/Production Manager. Her background in Business Administration and former work in the Model and Talent industry has influenced how she manages/coordinates projects and client relations. When she isn’t working on projects for companies such as Acura, New Holland, Children’s Wish, Saskatchewan Pension Plan & SaskTel, she is at the figure skating rink with watching daughter and is a closet gamer, playing PlayStation with her teenage son.
Producer/Editor – Trona has a degree in Motion Picture Arts Production from Red Deer College. She produced the feature film Baby Blues as well as serving as First Assistant Director. There’s very little that Trona can’t do; her strong background in theater and sports coupled with her boundless enthusiasm also make her a shoo-in for charades and 3-legged races.
Editor/Colorist – Tyler is the master of the quick turnaround. Whether assembling episodes of APTN’s The Other Side from hours of raw footage or cutting together the latest corporate video or commercial he deftly meets the clients vision, all while juggling numerous other technical assignments. He’s Final Cut Pro certified, knows his way around the Adobe line-up, and has also spent countless hours on-set behind the camera. His own films have won international awards and accolades, and he can recite lines from The Toxic Avenger verbatim.
Co-president – With Bob Crowe, Wally runs Angel Entertainment and Bamboo Shoots. He’s quick with a smile and a laugh you can hear echo in the hallways.
